STRATIGRAPHIC  PALYNOLOGISTS

Conoco Inc., an integrated oil and gas company headquartered in Houston,
Texas, has an immediate opening for an experienced palynologist.  Conoco is
committed to an aggressive growth program which depends heavily on
palynology in international and domestic plays.

In this position, the successful candidate will be a critical resource as
part of a multi-disciplinary team that is charged with bringing
state-of-the-art technology in biostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy,
depositional systems, structural geology and basin analysis to interpreters
throughout the Company's worldwide exploration and production business
units.  The team provides technical service, technology transfer and
consulting for Conoco operations and is actively involved in technology
development with industry and academia partners.

Applicants should have:

*   An advanced degree in micropaleontology.  At least 5 years post graduate
experience with organic-walled microfossils, particularly dinoflagellates,
spores and pollen.

*   Expertise interpreting and applying palynology data to solve exploration
and production problems.  Proficiency employing quantitative methods.

*   Breadth of experience with basins and reservoirs of various geologic
ages and depositional settings.

*   Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.

*   Business focus.  Proven experience in planning and managing multiple
projects.

*   Well-networked among biostratigraphers from industry, academia and
consultancies.
