VERTEBRATE PALEONTOLOGY FACULTY OPENING The Department of Geological Sciences of the University of Texas at Austin is now seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Quaternary vertebrate paleontology, for an appointment to begin September 1, 1997. The successful candidate will conduct research and direct education in Quaternary vertebrate paleontology, focusing on collections-based research in one or more of the following areas: paleoclimate, Quaternary trends in biodiversity, morphological and molecular systematics, and human impact on Nature. A strong field program is an essential component of this research. The successful candidate will employ the most modern analytic and computational methods in both teaching and research, and will add new courses to our paleontology curriculum at undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. is required.
