Free BugWin 96

Hi fellow micropaleontologists,

BugWin is a Windows program designed to rapidly enter biostratigraphic data
from well or outcrop samples. After the data is collected, range charts
(also known as distribution charts, checklists) can be automatically drawn
with publication quality by harnessing the power of MS Excel. The charts can
be constructed using numbers, letters or bars to denote species abundance.
Color 'sawtooth' curves may be used to display variation of various
properties throughout the section.

BugWin is free for academic use, and the latest, fully functional version can
be downloaded from an FTP site.

Features include:
- Standard Windows online help (new feature).
- Unlimited number of dictonaries, easily changable from the menu.
- Data is stored in a single, readable ASCII file, with export capabilities
to other programs and formats.- Many types of sample data capture: Sample
preservation, quality, size;   paleobathymetry; thermal maturation;
lithology; etc.

To qualify for this offer, you must:
- Use the program only for academic purposes at a college or university. (
For info on commercial use, email bugware@aol.com or call (904) 668-3894.)
- Be able to download a single 2.7 meg file from the ftp site. This file
