ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

SYMPOSIUM "PALEOGENE OF SOUTH AMERICA"
October 11 and 15, 1996. Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Meeting of the IGCP Project 301 and the South American Regional
Committee on Paleogene Stratigraphy, under the auspices of the
National Geological Survey of Argentina and within the framework
of the XIII Argentine Geological Congress and III Hydrocarbon
Exploration Congress.

Papers on all topics concerning the Paleogene of South America
and neighboring areas (Central America, Antarctica) are expected.
One of the main objectives of this meeting is to present the
synthesis on the Paleogene of the South American basins and to
discuss interregional correlations, in order to integrate the
final publication of Project 301. Invited conferences will be
dedicated to economic geology, metallogenesis, magmatism,
tectonics and integrated correlations with sedimentary events.
The proceedings will be published by the Direccion Nacional del
Servicio Geologico of Argentina. Deadline for submission of
abstracts: August 30th, 1996.

All our colleagues whose work relates to the Paleogene of South
America are invited to participate in this meeting.
