For some reason it can not deliver mail to someone at Arco. Since computers are efficient and we like to know if mail did not go through, Arco's computer sends a message back to the sender telling the sender the mail did not get to the person every time it receives a post for the peleontologist at Arco. Normally we like to know our message did not go through, but now it goes back to all the list and a number of folks get irritated. The machine did not give us much information on why it didn't go through, but it seems there was routing error (probably on their end). ARCO SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIX IT, BUT THEIR POSTMASTER HAD NOT RESPONDED TO A NICE MESSAGE I LEFT HIM ON SATURDAY. Perhaps until they do Norm can remove the person from the Paleolist, even though it is not the fault of his machine. I am sending a copy of this note to the postmaster and hope they do something about the messages bouncing back to the list. > > > PLANO.PALEONE4 DISTRIBUTION STATUS INFORMATION 01/28/96 09:14: > 0 > ======================================================================= > > DISTRIBUTION ID: PLANO.PALEONE4.5537 > SUBJECT : DISTRIBUTION STATUS > DATE SENT : 01/28/96 TIME SENT: 09:14:00 > ======================================================================= > > YOUR MAIL WAS NOT DELIVERED FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON: > > SNADS STATUS : 0201 > EXPLANATION : ROUTING ERROR > > ======================================================================= > > RECIPIENT : MACMS.MACMS_M > LAST NAME : MAC Gateway - AOGC/AEPT > FIRST NAME : > MIDDLE INITIAL : > NATIVE NAME : > COUNTRY : > ADMD : > PRMD : > ORGANIZATION : AEPT > ORG UNIT 1 : Scientific Computing > ORG UNIT 2 : > ORG UNIT 3 : > ORG UNIT 4 : > DDA : > > > -- : James F.
