Dear Colleagues: I found your e-mail address in BITNET correspondence and I think that probabely you are interested in information about our museum. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Our museum of natural history (Novosibirsk, Russia) is looking partners for joint palaeontological projects. The museum of natural history was found in 1994 year in Akademgorodok (it is scientific center of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences). During this two years museum created one of the biggest palaeonological collection in Siberia. The museum of natural history found the first Russian cemetery of dinosaure last year. Presently museum has next fossils in the collection that was excavated during two last field seasons. ** Quaternary faunas ** - Coelodonta antiquitatis. Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 85 percentages. Age is 50,000 - 70,000 years. Height is 1,80 metre. Length is 4,50 metre. Width is 0,95 metre. Skeleton can be taken to pieces. - Bison priscus. Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 90 percentages. Age is 50,000 - 70,000 years. Height is 2,10 metre. Length is 3,50 metre. Width is 0,80 metre. Skeleton can be taken to pieces. - Bison bonanus (5 specimens). Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 100 percentages. Age is contemporary. Height is 1,80 metre. Length is 3,00 metre. Width is 0,80 metre. Skeleton can be taken to pieces. - Mammunthus primigenius. Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 100 percentages. Age is 40,000 - 50,000 years. Height is 2,90 metre. Length is 5,00 metre. Width is 1,40 metre. Skeleton can be taken to pieces. - Equus sp. (exhibit will be installed during 1996 year). Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 80 percentages. Age is 50,000 - 70,000 years. Height is 1,60 metre. Length is 2,50 metre. Width is 0,70 metre. Skeleton can be taken to pieces. - Crocuta spelaea (exhibit will be installed during 1996 year). Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 50 percentages. Age is 30,000 - 40,000 years. Height is 0,90 metre. Length is 1,20 metre. Width is 0,40 metre. Skeleton can be taken to pieces. - Megaloceros giganteus (exhibit will be installed during 1996 year). Complete skeleton. Natural bones include 50 percentages. Age is 30,000 - 40,000 years. It is bas-relief (wall) variant of skeleton. - There is wool of Mammunthus primigenius and Coelodonta antiquitatis. There are 10,000 bones of animals lived in that period. ** Cretaceus ** - Dinosaur of sub-group Theropoda, family Saurornithidae Natural bones include 100 percentages. Height is 0,40 metre. Bones are in a piece of rock (monolith). - Dinosaur of sub-group Ornithopoda, family Psittacosauridae (3 specimens). Natural bones include 100 percentages. Height is 1,20 metre. Bones are in a piece of rock (monolith). - There are many separate bones of Psittacosauridae in museum. - Dinosaur of sub-group Sauropoda. The excavation are stared. There are 5 bones in museum. Length is about 10,00 metres. - Collection of ammonites from different region of Siberia. Collection includes 80 exhibits. Presently our museum are very interested in expanding of partnership with foreign partners. The museum has possibilities for organizing joint palaeontological expedition to the first Russian cemetery of dinosaurs or bural places of Quaternary faunas. Museum is ready for a joint scientific researches in this sphere. We are interested in organizing joint exhibitions that can be expanded by archaelogical and ethnography material kept in another Siberian museums.
