International Mailing of Fossils for Trades

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Gary and I live in Rochester New
York, USA. I am an amateur Paleobotanist and have been collecting and studying
fossils for over 20 years now. I am extremely focused on plant fossils with
some lesser interests in insects and to an even lesser extent, fossil teeth. My
primary interest is currently in Devonian plant fossils.

I have just recently gained acces to the internet and to e-mail. I am also a
member of the rocks-and-fossils e-mail group, I am guessing there are overlaps.

I am interested in contacting anyone that has interests in paleobotany. I
recently asked (in the rocks-and-fossils group) if there were members that would
be interested in trading plant fossils. I do this to increase the diversity of
my collection. I am also constantly looking for literature on paleobotany.

I would like to ask this group if there are members that are interested in
trading fossils ? If so please let me know. I currently have a number of
Devonian Archaeopteris hallina and some obtuse specimens to trade for other
plants.

I would also like to know if any of you have had any experience in mailing
fossils internationally. I have the feeling that there may be some restrictions
or procedures that I should know about. I am also not certain if there are any
customs issues concerned with mailing fossils for trade. Please let me know if
you have any opinions or suggestions on this topic.

Thanks for your replies. I look forward to interacting with this group.

Gary
