Spookily (and relevantly for a recent thread on Paleonet) the same net search turned up an article on sauropod weight and reduced gravity, which on following up turned out to be part of a set of pages run by some highly committed Catastrophists and Velikovskyists (apologies if I spell that wrong). I won't trouble you with the URL for the Velikovsky home page - mainly because I don't want anyone to think I am connected in any way with such silliness. I just thought it was interesting who is out there.... BTW I too am interested in use of expert systems and neural nets for fossil identification. On a related note, anyone out there interested in taking a computer modelling approach to studying patterns of evolution? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Tim McCormick Tel: 0141 339 8855 ext 5469 Dept. of Geology & Applied Geology Fax: 0141 330 4817 University of Glasgow Email: tmcc@geology.glasgow.ac.uk Glasgow G12 8QQ United Kingdom -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tim's the name, Measuring trilobites is the game.....
