 The "normal person" may have a hidden agenda and is looking for an
opportunity to quote you out of context.

My suggestion: if you answer, simply say that there is no evidence for a
significant change in the gravitational force, no evidence that whales
evolved from aquatic reptiles, and refer them to a layman's reference book
(e.g., the Encyclopedia Britannica) for more details.  Let the encyclopedia
be misquoted!
