As I see it, parallelism and convergence are kinds of homoplasy. Since they are, in the majority of cases, difficult to distinguish, I prefer to just use the term "homoplasy" and leave it at that. My reading of the posted definitions suggests that homeomorphy is the result of large amounts of homoplasy - homoplasy refers to specific characters, but homeomorphy refers to organisms. chris ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Christopher A.
