I haven't seen the paper either; one rather old paper that discusses supernova effects is: Tucker, W. 1977, The effect of a supernova explosion on the Cretaceous Tertiary environment. Syllogeus, no. 12:111-124. The following paper in the volume is also of interest: Feldman, P. 1977. Astronomical evidence bearing on the supernova hypothesis for the mass extinctions at the end of the Cretaceous. Syllogeus, vol. 12:125-135. The Tucker paper has a intersting table labeled "Plausible Sequence of Events Resulting From a Supernova Explosion 18 Parsecs from Earth." I would be interested in Tom's astrophysicist's comments on this particular scenario. - Roy Plotnick
