I have been following recent discussions of REE's etc. in conodonts; I don't think I can contribute anything that previous correspondents don't already know. BUT, does anyone know anything about F in apatite. How mobile is it over geological timescales? Does F content in fossil biogenic apatite reflect in vivo concentrations or postmortem loss/gain? Just thought I'd ask. Dr Mark A. Purnell Department of Geology, University of Leicester University Road, Leicester LE1 7RH, U.K tel: 0116 2523629 fax: 0116 2523918
