Re: RCPT: F in apatite

Hi Wayne,

You are probably not aware that your e-mail software is configured to send
back this sort of message to paleonet:

I'm not an expert in these things, but I understand this works like this: the
original posting's author's software was configured (inadvertently, I expect)
to include in the message a request for confirmation of receipt. Your software
is configured to respond automatically to such a request and send back a
message like the one above. But for your software, the posting's originator is
paleonet, so the confirmation is send back to paleonet -- i.e. to everybody on
paleonet. Moreover, listservers are usually configured to distribute a posting
to every subscriber -- excepting the posting's originator. So it's quite
likely you're not even aware what your e-mail programme does behind your back.
The solution is to reconfigure your software not to respond automatically to
requests for RCPTs. How you do that depends on what programme you're actually
using.

Best wishes, Florin

PS: I include the entire text of the RCPT message, which might be helpful
should you ask your sysadmin/local computer guru's advice.
