All, Thanks to all who responded with the answer to my question regarding the proper spelling of Tusoteuthis longa. Miller (1968, p. 53) included the original spelling, “Tusoteuthis longus Logan 1898” in the citation under his section heading of "Tusoteuthis longa Logan 1898", but then offered no explanation for the spelling change. Apparently he recognized the gender issue with the masculine "longus" species name originated by Logan.
