The Royal Soc are encouraging active and innovative American postdoctoral scientists to undertake the highest quality research in UK laboratories for extended periods of between one and three years. Eligibility Applicants must either have a recent PhD, or expect to obtain a PhD in advance of the proposed start date (must have written confirmation of PhD), or be scientists who have just obtained a tenured position in a US university and have the opportunity for sabbatical leave. Fellowships are only open to persons who are US nationals living in the USA at the time of application. Duration: 12-36 months Value: up to gbp 35,000 pa. An allowance for reasonable research expenses (for consumables, equipment and conference travel) of up to gbp 12,000 pa will be available. Deadline: 31st January 2003.
