Dear Colleagues This is second mailing announcing the 2002 1 day Evolution and Development meeting, to be held in the School of Animal and Microbial Sciences, University of Reading on Tuesday 17th September 2002. This is the third such meeting, and follows on from those held in Sunderland in 2000 and Cambridge in 2001. Talks will start at 11.00am to allow time for travel and, as in previous years, we have a relatively relaxed schedule to allow plenty of time for discussion. Buffet lunch and coffee will be provided, and poster boards will be available for those wishing to display posters (see below). Please feel free to pass this message on to interested parties who might not be on the mailing list, and my apologies to those of you who receive it several times or have already contacted me. Receipts can be provided if necessary. Posters A number of poster boards will be available for those wishing to present posters. These will be allocated on a first come-first served basis, please let me know if you would like to display a poster. As an incentive, Nature Publishing have kindly offered a years subscription to Nature Reviews Genetics as a prize for the best poster. Job advertisements A poster board will be available for anyone wishing to advertise jobs or studentships. Getting to Reading Reading is situated about 30 minutes by train from London's Paddington station. The nearest airport is London's Heathrow, which is connected to Reading by the RailAir coach service, operating every 30 minutes and taking about 40 minutes, depending on traffic. For participants intending to drive, use junctions 10 or 11 of the M4. Parking will be free on campus IF you let me know beforehand (your name and your car registration number) so I can clear access with campus security.
