Paleonetters, I would be grateful for some help in acquiring (purchasing) some samples of Nereites ichnofacies trace fossils. I want these for use in laboratory classes devoted to trace fossils and to depositional environments at the undergraduate (Bachelor degree program) level. Of most use would be samples of the taxa Paleodictyon, Spiroraphe, Cosmoraphe, Scolicia, or similar appearing traces, which are easy to recognize and clearly different from other traces. After all, this is for teaching use and the more obvious the sample the better the lab will be. I do not have easy access to flysch deposits for collecting such traces and have not yet found a good source for such. I desire multiple examples of each trace obtained and need sturdy ones that are easy to see on the rock. If you have information on a possible supplier, commercial or private, please contact me off list. Thanks. T. Yancey Thomas E. Yancey Dept.
