Greetings!
I am currently evaluating Cenozoic fossil goniasterid starfish (an
example from the Cretaceous would be Metopaster) as part of my PhD
dissertation. I already have many specimens, and pertinent citations. I
would be interested in any institutions out there that might have fossil
goniasterid starfish (body fossils or ossicles) in their collections.
Although body fossils are rare-its been my recent experience that
the disarticulated body ossicles can be more common, but overlooked, or
thought to be of little value. Many are frequently unpublished. So if
you've got ossicles/fragments in your collection or you see them in your
research, I would love to arrange a loan or talk to you.
With best regards to all an thanks in advance
Chris
