OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PALEOCLIMATOLOGY The Department of Geosciences seeks to hire a full-time, 9-month, tenure track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PALEOCLIMATOLOGY. For full consideration candidates should apply by September 15, 2002 and the successful applicant's availability will determine the start date. We seek a colleague whose research uses quantitative studies to address mechanisms of climate change across a range of time and spatial scales. This position will strengthen a research focal area for the department, composed of Geology and Geography Programs, and complement the efforts of OSU faculty working on a campus-wide research theme highlighting Atmosphere, Ocean and Earth Systems. The successful candidate will conduct a vigorous, externally funded research program and teach at the undergraduate and graduate level in the Geosciences Department with an approximate distribution of effort at 50% research, 40% instruction, and 10% service. A Ph.D. is required at the time of hire. This position is funded through education and general funds.
