RE: paleonet Sedimentology textbooks

I forwarded this request to sednet; you may get some additional suggestions there.

Modesty prevents me from suggesting the book I co-wrote, but I really like the slim volume by Hsu for physical sedimentology:

K. J. Hsu, 1989, Physical principles of sedimentology: Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 233 p. ISBN 3-540-51268-3 or 0-387-51268-3

Blatt, Middleton, and Murray's old textbook is good if you can find it:

Blatt, Harvey, Middleton, Gerard, and Murray, Raymond, 1972, Origin of sedimentary rocks: Englewood Cliffs, Prentice-Hall634 p. ISBN 0-13-642702-2

Friedman and Sanders was, I think, the most comprehensive of its day:

Friedman, G. M., and Sanders, J. E., 1978, Principles of Sedimentology: New York, John Wiley & Sons, 792 p. ISBN 0-471-75245-2

Subject: paleonet Sedimentology textbooks

Colleagues,

Can anyone recommend good sedimentology textbooks for
a person who is primarily trained in the biological aspects of
paleo but would like to further his knowledge of the geological
side of the science? Thank you very much for your suggestions.
