Michel,
There are a number of useful sedimentology text
books. I recommend:
Boggs S. 1995. Principles of sedimentology
and stratigraphy (2nd edition). Published by Prentice-Hall,
Inc.
This is a good sedimentology book as it gives a
good coverage of the basic principles of sedimentology (i.e. sedimentary
structures, rock textures, rock types and classification and sedimentary
facies). O, and the different methods in rock correlation and
stratigraphy (biostrat., Lithostrat etc.)Easy read and it is used to teach
basic sedimentology at my local university.
Reading, H. G. (editor) 1996. Sedimentary
environments: processes, facies and stratigraphy. Published by Blackwell
Science, Ltd.
This is a more advanced text on sedimentary
facies.
Walker, R. G. 1984. Facies models, 2nd
edition. Geoscience Canada, Reprint series 1.
A simplified form of Reading, 1996.
Hope this helps... Keep smiling!
Matt
