Dear colleague, I advise you to consult the recently published book "Fossil Crinoids" (Cambridge University Press, 1999) which I edited with others and wrote a chapter on the Upper Jurassic Solnofen Plattenkalk of Bavaria, mostly dealing with Saccocoma. I have also published a paper "Saccocomen aus dem Malm Süddeutschlands und ihre Lebensweise" in the popular magazine "Fossilien" , vol. 17 (no. 6), 2000, p. 347-358, where additional information is given. Best wishes, Hans Hess ----- Original Message ----- From: Michael Rasser <michael.rasser@paleoweb.net> To: <PaleoNet@nhm.ac.uk> Sent: Monday, October 08, 2001 4:48 PM Subject: paleonet Saccocoma Dear colleagues, I am looking for new references on the crinoid genus SACCOCOMA. In 1994, C. Milson (Palaeontology, vol. 37/1) suggested that Saccocoma is a benthic, but not a pelagic crinoid. Do you know any new studies on the paleoecology of Saccocoma, especially on the depth distribution? Thank you in advance, Michael Rasser ---------------------------------------- Dr. Michael W.
