COLLECTION MANAGER - INVERTEBRATE PALEONTOLOGY The Research & Collections Department of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks to hire a full-time Collections Manager for Invertebrate Paleontology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care of a collection of invertebrate fossils including about 3.5 million lots from 26,000 cataloged localities. Specific duties include specimen preparation, maintenance of collection-related databases and web sites, loan management, computer cataloging, and assistance in the preparation of collection-related grant proposals. The successful applicant will also be expected to respond to scientific and public inquiries, and maintain an active program of community outreach. Candidates must have a Masters degree in an appropriate field of science or a bachelors degree and two years experience working with museum collections. Prior experience in computer database management is essential, and candidates with knowledge of the geology of western North America are encouraged to apply.
