Micropaleontological PhD Position, University of Bonn, Germany A micropaleontology PhD position is available beginning on October 1st (PhD-student) for Research in Evolutionary Biogeography of Cretaceous or Paleocene Larger Foraminifera within the Graduate College "Evolution and Biodiversity in Time and Space" at the University of Bonn. The position is for a maximum of three years and comes with a travel allowance to attend conferences/meetings and a supplies budget. The goals of this project are to better understand the environmental controls and historical evolution of patterns of biodiversity and bioprovinciality of selected Larger Foraminifera at a global level. Requirements - experience in marine micropaleontology and biologic evolution, appropriate prior training, preferably in marine biological or marine geological sciences, ability to carry out extensive specimen based research using light microscopy, imaging, and database/GIS tools. Fluency in spoken and written english is required. The successful PhD applicant will be expected, in addition to her/his own research, to assist Graduate College staff in improving communication within the College, e.g., by helping to organise workshops or informal seminars.
