The following is a neobiological request, rather than
paleobiological. Yet I hope someone knows the answer!
Can anyone identify for me the species of arctic bird whose song
forms the basis for the first movement ("The Bog") in the beautiful
musical work by Rautavaara entitled "Cantus Arcticus"? I think I
know, but would like to have all doubts removed.
If anyone knows of an ornithological listserver, please cross-list
this request for me!
