The problem with the attachment was certainly intersting, I guess. The problem really lies with OSes. UNIX/LINUX, OS/2 and even NT are much more receptive and forgiving (and crash resistant!) than Mac OS, Windows 3.x/95 and DOS. The best trick is to use a format that is as universal as possible, e.g. JPEG or perhaps GIF. I routinely exchange specimen images with other colleagues, and we have had no problems (despite using 4 different OSes). And if your OS does not have an image program capable of reading one of those formats, surf the web. They're all out there for free. Peter Roopnarine Dr. Peter D.
