The problems PaleoNet is experiencing aren't limited to PaleoNet alone, but plague all the listservers hosted by the Museum of Paleontology at the University of California, Berkeley (e.g., micropal). PaleoNet is simply so active that an intermittent technical fault which would likely go unnoticed on another listserver (and all listservers occasionally suffer from such faults) gets noticed. I understand the problems, at least in part, reside in the Sendmail program which is due to be upgraded soon. Until that happens we will continue to try to cope with the situation as best we can. However, please be aware that all the work that goes into PaleoNet is done pro bono, by "avocational" listserver operators who also hold down day jobs, fellowships, etc. Norm MacLeod >Amen, although not with so much vigor.
