MS-Word's print merge feature will easily format references if you have the reference broken into the necessary fields, i.e. author, year, title, journal, and volume and pages. If you have acquired your references from GeoRef etc, most of the work is done, except for separating the volume and pages from the journal portion. I import or type a reference only once, into a FileMaker database. From then on, I export the appropriate references into a print merge data set and print merge it using the appropriate format for the report or article. -- Pierre A.
