Re: insects at K/T boundary

Thank you for the information Norm. This is really interesting. I hope the
abstract you cited

Labandiera, C. C., 1992. Diets, diversity, and disparity: Determining the
effect of the terminal Cretaceous extinction on insect evolution. 5th
NAPC, Abstr., Spec. Publ. Pal. Soc., 6, 174.

lead to a longer publication. Does somebody know a reference?

The conclusions you mention will undermine my position in the K/T boundary
discussion with my wife. As a medical doctor she is not at all a friend of
catastrophes, which do not seem to be supported by the insect evidence.
There are still a lot of questions left. I hope there are friends of the
insects around on Paleonet who can help.
