newfoundland fossils

Hello all. I am going to be spending a few weeks on the Southeast coast of
Newfoundland (in the Fortune Bay area). I am going to have both car and 
boat transportation. Can anyone:

1. direct me to some fossil localities (Camb, Ord?)

2. tell me if there some other way to get from St John's to the northern
shore of Fortune Bay other than through Gander? 

3. Geologic maps? 

I teach Historical Geology and have never (in my post-larval stages) 
tromped in the Appalachians - will be nice to talk about stuff that I 
have at least seen and touched instead of "booking it". Thanks for any
