                 Postdoctoral Research Assistant

A postdoctoral research assistant is required to work on a recently
discovered fossil lagerstätte from the Silurian of the Welsh
Borderland (see Nature, 1996, 382, 248-250).  The PDRA will join Dr
Derek Siveter (Oxford), Professor Derek Briggs (Bristol) and Dr David
Siveter (Leicester), for a period of about eight months, to
investigate the composition, palaeobiology, and preservation of the
fauna.  This project is being funded by the NERC and the PDRA will be
based in Oxford.

Applicants should, preferably, be available to begin work during the
summer or early autumn.  Applications should include the names of two
