Suggestions for starting college paleo society?

Another Paleo student and I are thinking of starting an Oklahoma State
University Paleontological Society, and we are looking for suggestions
in general such as, problems associated with funding, suggestions for
structuring (I would like to avoid the old rule "President," "Vice
President," or "Chairperson," etc because I want all members to have a
say as to how everything is ran), and last and most important, possible
funding for field trips and/or unforseen expenses by other more
prominent Geological/Paleontological societies that might be interested
in sponsoring us.
