Postdoctoral Position available in Palynology

When: begin - March 1997, duration - 1 year, but with expectation of
extension.

Description:

Paleoclimate research using pollen from Plio-Pleistocene sediments from
Lake Baikal.  Qualitative and quantitative methods.  Close cooperation
with colleagues in Russia (Limnology Institute, Irkutsk) and Germany
(Alfred Wegener Institute, Potsdam).

Prerequisites:

Ph.D., solid basic knowledge of the problems and methods of Cenozoic &
Quaternary paleoclimatology.  Experience in pollen analysis.  Good
english, and if possible some knowledge of german and russian languages.
Good organisational skills.
