I apologize to those of you who received a blank screen for this
message. For some reason when I cut and paste a note onto e-mail, no
message is received. Can someone explauin that malfunction to me.
Anyway, Larry Sloss, famous American Stratigrapher, father of Sequence
Stratigraphy, Professor Emeritus from Northwestern University died
over the weekend from complications from lung surgery. I was with
Larry last April and he was as vital as ever--as full of p--- and
vinegar as ever. We will miss his voice at GSA and AAPG. I am
attempting to paste the original message sent our by Patricia Poole of
the USGS below. If you do not receive it, you will understand why.
