Two (2) of the color illustrations found in October's GSA Today lead
article, "Out of the Icehouse into the Greenhouse: A Late Paleozoic
Analog for Modern Global Vegetational Change." are available for teaching
purposes at cost. The illustrations are Figure 1 (Reconstruction of a
middle late Carboniferous tropical coal swamp) and Figure 2 (Relation
between global glaciation and vegetative change during the late
Paleozoic). If you are interested in obtaining these slides, send $5.00
to cover the cost of duplication and mailing to the address below.
Orders will be taken until mid-November (after GSA) at which time
duplicates will be made. You should receive your copies by early
December. I envision this as a one-time offer; in the vein of late-night
television commercials ... "Act now."
