Working at a museum you can lose track of time (especially if you're a
paleontologist). It just dawned on me that everyone has pretty much gone
back to school at US, UK, and European colleges and universities. So what
did enrollments look like this year? Are there more bright young faces in
the classrooms ready to eager to learn about the life of the past (=
undergraduates) and prepare for professional careers in our field (=
graduate students)? Or do you hear an odd and vaguely disquieting echo when
you step up to the lectern? Casual conversations with colleagues in the UK
suggest that paleo. enrollments are increasing over here, as they have been
doing for several years. At least, for those Departments that still have a
paleo. program. What's it like in your neck of the woods?
