>From what I understand it's perfectly possible to mirror ftp archives and www
sites. In fact, I know of one US www site that is mirrored in Europe to speed
up access; as to the heavily accessed ftp archives, such as the ones at
Stanford or at the U of Michigan, there are many mirrors of those on every
continent. However, I'm ignorant of the logistical requirements (other than
equivalent disk space).
