It's probably difficult to find anyone who would call himself an expert on
the systematics of Cambrian graptolites. Your best shot would probably be
Peter Durman, who did a Ph.D. recently in Cambridge on Cambrian graptolites
and graptolikes. (A good recent reference to Cambrian rhabdopleurids is his
1993 paper with Nikolai Sennikov in Palaeontology, Vol. 36:2, pp. 283-296.)
Unfortunately, Peter is currently not employed as a palaeontologist, and I
don't know where he is. (I'm trying to get his address from a friend of his
and will let you know if there is success.)
Other people who have worked in a more systematic fashion on odd groups of
graptolites, including Cambrian ones, are Dietmar Andres (used to be at the
Freie Universitaet Berlin) and Piotr Mierzejewski (used to be at the
Paleobiology Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences), though again
I'm not sure about their present activities or whereabouts. You might want
to contact Adam Urbanek in Warsaw (try at paleo@asp.biogeo.uw.edu.pl). He
knows a lot about early and odd graptolites, and he might know how to get
in touch with Mierzejewski.
I'd be interested in knowing more details of the fossil. Do you have a good
photo?
All best,
Stefan
