Laurel Collins had similar problems and initiated exploration on MicroPal. Here is what he assembled from the available information. If there is new information please post it on Paleonet. I collect and redistribute it when the next colleague runs out of equipment. Best wishes! Heinz Hilbrecht ------- My search for vendors of microfossil picking trays has turned up 2 options. There are no known vendors in the USA. There are at least 2 vendors in Europe: BIOTEC 31 Atherfield Road Reigate, Surrey, RH2 7PR UNITED KINGDOM (fax 44-(0)483-31106, phone 44-(0)737-240578). Trays are high-quality heavy bronze painted flat black, 10x8.5cm with sloping sides, divided into 42 squares (6 rows x 7 columns) by lines scored in the metal, costing 12 pounds (about $18 USA) with a discount for bulk orders (about 5 or more trays). Note: My letters and faxes to this company over the last 2 years have gone unanswered. I suggest interested buyers accept Norm MacLeod's offer to handle orders. FEMA Salzgitter Steinfurter Strasse 15 Postfach 41 02 63, D-48066 Muenster GERMANY Trays are reported to be of very high quality, durable, brass, about 7x11cm, ruled in cm squares or unruled on black or white background, costing $18 about 9 years ago. compiled by Laurel Collins Museum of Paleontology University of Michgan Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1079 email laurel.collins@um.cc.umich.edu --------- Address: Heinz Hilbrecht Geological Institute ETH Zentrum Sonneggstrasse 5 CH-8092 Zuerich Switzerland Tel.: ++41-1-63 23676 Fax: ++41-1-63 21080 Internet: Hilbrecht@erdw.ethz.ch
