Cretaceous Symposium

Dear paleonetters,

The 5th International Cretaceous Symposium will take place on 
September 16-24, 1996 in Freiberg/Saxony, Germany.
We hereby cordially invite you and look forward to meet you at our university.
In the context of this meeting we will also conduct the 2nd Workshop on
Inoceramids and the annual meeting of the IGCP Project 362 "Tethyan and Boreal
Cretaceous".

The program will consist of following topics:
- sea level changes and sequence stratigraphy
- rhythms, cycles and paleoclimatology
- paleogeography and biogeography
- bio-, isotope- and magnetostratigraphy in tethyan and northern temperated
  realms
- paleobiology and evolution
- paleoceanography

The accompanying inoceramid workshop will be on September 23-24 and is under
the leadership of Heinz Hilbrecht (Zurich) and Peter Harries (Tampa, Florida).

A1 Late Cenomanian rocky shore deposits
A2 Cenomanian fluvial and transgressive deposits

post-excursions on Sep. 20-22 (three days)
B1 Stratigraphy and facial development of the Bohemian-Saxonian Cretaceous
   basin
B2 Cretaceous of the Subhercynian basin
B3 Cretaceous of Regensburg
