The Division of Micropalaeontology of The Natural History Museum is
currently preparing a Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) proposal
to fund a project involving the systematic revision of Mesozoic-Cenozoic
deep-sea benthic foraminifera and the organization of relevant taxonomic,
biostratigraphic, paleoecologic, biogeographic, and phylogenetic
information into a comprehensive database. In conjunction with this effort
we wish to identify a post-doctoral researcher qualified to participate in
the project who would be involved in preparing the proposal. If funded, the
systematic revision/database grant would
provide three years support for the candidate along with equipment and
travel allowances. Expertise in Mesozoic-Cenozoic deep-sea benthic
foraminiferal systematics and biostratigraphy is required, some knowledge
of computer databases and image processing is desirable. Interested
candidates should send a complete CV, statement of qualifications, and the
e-mail addresses of three references to Norman MacLeod (preferably via
e-mail: N.MacLeod@nhm.ac.uk). Application materials should arrive no later
than 7 September, 1995.
