There are lots of books on introductory fractal/chaos theory; it's
been a hot topic for some time. It would help if I knew how you
wanted to apply it. One thing I will suggest: there's a book by
Benoit Mandelbrot called _The Fractal Geometry of Nature_. The 
book is nearly unreadable; avoid it. Let me know more about what
you want to learn (off the list, if you prefer) and I may be able to
help you or to find someone who can.
