GENERAL INFORMATION
-------------------------------------------------------------
International Conference of Diversification and Evolution
of Terrestrial Plants in Geological Time (ICTPG) will be held
in Nanjing, China, organized by Nanjing Institute of Geology
and Palaeontology, Academia Sinica and Palaeobotanical
Society of China, during Sept. 4-8, 1995 (with post-symposium
excursion in Sept. 9-18, 1995) to provide a forum for
discussions and promoting the progress in paleobotanical
research and its applications. Up to now, about 120
paleobotanists from 22 countries and a region have confirmed
their attending the conference. The participants are from
Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, D.P.R.
Korea, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Mongolia, The
Netherlands, Poland, R. Korea, Romania, Russia, S. Africa,
Ukraine, United States, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong. The
Organizing Committee has much appreciate for their supports
and warmly welcome other more paleobotanists to join in the
conference.

FIELD EXCURSIONS

Diverse and attractive post-symposium excursion will be
arranged for participants and accompaniers. Experts on local
areas and local guides will accompany each tour group. The
travelling fare is from Nanjing to each excursion terminal
(one way) including the local transportations. The organizing
fee includes the cost for pre-conference field preparing,
guide fee, etc.

There are many airlines connected major international
cities with Shanghai, Beijing and Hongkong. You can change
plane from the three cities to Nanjing, or travel by train
from Shanghai or Beijing to Nanjing.
There are also several international trains connected
Beijing with major European and Asian cities. For returning,
you may depart from the destinations (Xi'an, Kunming,
Nanjing) via Beijing, Shanghai, or Hongkong. The secretariat
is pleased to book the ticket for the participants and
accompaniers travelling after the field excursions, the
ticket fare(s) can be paid in Nanjing when they arrived.

An official invitation will be sent to the participants
for getting entrance visa as soon as the secretariate
received the completed registration form attached the 3rd
Circular.

PAYMENT

All payment must be in US dollars. Before the conference,
the registrants can send the personal cheque or bank transfer
for their registration fees, accommodation deposits and the
excursion travelling and organizing fees. During the
conference, payments should be paid in cash. The
internationally current travel-cheque or credit cards can be
used in Chinese banks in Nanjing for cash changes. All the
payments should be sent to the secretariat before July 31.
