You're being grossly unfair to Norm, who certainly doesn't need to be
extorted by threats of deliberate meltdowns to spring into action!

Notwithstanding Una's helpful explanation of loops being caused by various
little differences between the configurations of different mail servers, I
can't help noting that both times when loops have been a major problem on
Paleonet, the problem was caused by a full mailbox at the Geological Survey
of Canada. This suggests that the fault lies there.

In any case, if the loop problem can be solved by running Paleonet via
LISTSERV, as Una suggests, I hope that the people at NHM will consider this
and not hesitate to ask the Paleonet subscribers to help defray licence
costs if need be.
