Exciting news! The Newsletter of the Palaeontological Association is now available for you to download and peruse at your leisure. From this day forward, each issue (four a year) will be made available as it appears. The latest issue contains, among other juicy bits, the contents of The Association's journal "Paleontology", announcements of forthoming meetings of the Pal Ass and other bodies, conference reports, excursion reports, book reviews... To obtain your copy simply download either the .hqx file (if you're a mac) or .zip file (if you're a pc) from the paleonet anonymous ftp site: ftp.nhm.ac.uk/paleonet/Newsletters This can be achieved most easily using a good ftp transfer program (e.g., fetch). Alternatively you can get into the site using TelNet, set the mode to binary, and download the files using the get command. Read your manual for futher instructions. log on as "anonymous" and give your e-mail address as your password. Once you've got the file, it will decompress to an rtf file which can be read by most common word processing packages (such as word, wordperfect). If you cannot use rtf files, stand by for imminent exciting developments!
