Rich,

Here is what I have for the minutes of our last meeting. I am very sorry
that it took me this long to get them to you. I have a call in to Garry
about whether he can host the next meeting in Sugar Land. Hopefully, I
will know that by the end of the week.

Sally

1. Next Meeting: TBA (sometime in July 24-27)
Amoco is sponsoring a Chinese visitor from Nanjing Institute of Geology
and PalaeontologyJuly 17-21). Rich Lane thought the visitor may like to
present an overview of the Institute to the group as a whole. One
suggestion would be to have this event separate from our July meeting.

2. Discussion of group name change:
        1) All agreed to change name from Industry Paleo Managers Group to
Industry Biostratigraphic Coordinators.

        2) Discussion of how to increase interest in the group.

4. Gulf Coast Equivalency Chart
Garry Jones sent a status report on efforts for the project.
                A. Charts have been received from Conoco, BP, Bane and
                Shunick, Unocal and Amoco.
B.It was decided that IBC will do preliminary work, GCS-SEPM can
                do the rest

The following action steps were identified:

IBC creates a compilation of charts via Mike Fogarty (July 1, 1995).
IBC examines compilation (July Meeting).
Assesses and summarizes problem areas (July
Meeting).
Agreements reached on other areas (July Meeting).
Break out into subdiscipline groups for taxonomic differences.
Integrate microfossil groups.
Present results (problems/non problems) to GCS-SEPM Ad hoc committee.
Recommend GCS-SEPM Evaluate possibility of using image capture systems
with the chart.
Recommend using Berggren et al. (1995) timescale for the chart
Recommend Format for the chart.
