Re: Geology X Paleobioology

No they are definitely congruent. Each cannot--or should not--exist without the
other. Mistakes are made in both. To write them off as being incongruent
because neither can get it right all the time is a mistake in itself.

                Geology X Paleobiology: A Critique

During my work with fossil corals, I have seen that most of the students
do not follow a biological view concerning their field of work. Since
fossil coral taxonomy is historical related to biostratigraphy, most of
them are just intersted in using fossil corals as another tool for correlation.
That practice is the one that most contribute for the present confused status
of fossil coral taxonomy. New names appears according to subjective views,
just a few attention is done to make a precise study at the phena level, and
the rules of the ICZN are usually neglected, since many species are
being proposed using a typological view of the problem.

That kind of problem is common all around in paleontology???

Are Geology and Paleobiology truly incongruent???
Just a comment...
cheers,
