Sorry for posting to the NewsGroup in response to the request for Field
Guide Info, but my off-line e-mail was kicked back.
The two following field guides work well for fossil plants:
Gillespie, W.A., Clendenning, J.A. and Pfefferkorn, H.W. 198? (I'm not
sure if it has been updated from the mid-80's publication). Plant
Fossils of West Virginia. West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey.
Morgantown, W. Va. approx. 130p. I believe that it's about $8.
Tidwell, W.D. 1975. Common fossil plants of western North America.
Brigham Yound University Press. Provo. UT 197p. The copy I have was $7.95.
Good Luck.
