sci.bio.paleontology and PALEONET

I am an amateur and I have left many newsgroups and joined the
equivalent mailing lists to avoid the noise and trouble generated by too
easy an access. I was happy when I found out about PaleoNet since it
required a certain amount of searching for ;and this was the minor deterant
that I wanted to filter out those who were not interested enough in the
subject matter.
I can't do anything about a vote gating usenet to PaleoNet, but I
would find it regrettable. It would be the equivalent of buying a copy of
Scientific American for the benefit of having more in-depth articles, only
to find out that I have to sort through as many adds and repetitions as a
mainstream computer magazine.

        Thank you for reading,
        Cheers from Canada.
