groups of common ancestry

Systematics and taxonomy are aspects of biological evolutionary theory.  If
they do not work well for economic prospecting,  develop your own system.
The rest of us (well, most of the rest of us) will continue to develop a
system which addresses the biology, not the utility, of organisms.
